2013 saw many new endeavors for the Becker side. Gone were the days of their usual Navy away kits for a new sharp Black kit with a solid White stripe. A community member spilled out a brand new Home Kit that was Solid White - with the new soccer shield emblazoned on the shorts.
And the most incredible addition was the new pitch with the stadium being constructed around it. Once it is completed, Becker can boast the best Soccer-specific stadium in the state. Fresh green grass, state of the art lights, and a brand new 500 person stand on the North end is just the beginning of the Stadium. Future plans include a new flagpole measuring 25', dedicated trees on the west end, and a fresh scoreboard that will be adorned by the shields of the men's and women's teams.
The 2013 rendition of the Bulldogs team was built for speed with great athleticism and soccer pedigree in it's underclassmen. The team was anchored by 11 dedicated and hardworking seniors that were not soccer elites - but could play the game against the best in Central Minnesota.
The formation was constituted around SR Zack Vieau's knack to find the goal, SR Erik Tungland's control of the midfield, and buoyed by SR Brandon Croatt's shutdown mentality at defense. The Bulldogs did not play a pretty game - it was developed as a run and gun offense with a gritty defense that was supported by the offensive minded wingbacks.
The Bulldogs would find themselves in a Sherburne County Derby versus Princeton in their first match of the season.
