THe Becker Bulldogs Coaches
Head Coach Alex Jurek
Coach Jurek started in the Becker Soccer Program in 2009 as the Assistant Coach under Coach Eddie Ochieng. In 2010, Coach Jurek took the reigns of the Becker Soccer Program.
About me: I am a proud graduate of Becker - Class of 1997. I studied at UW-Stout Polytechnical and SCSU earning a Bachelor of Science in Environmental and Technological Sciences as well as a Bachelor of Science in Education. I am entering my 8th year at Becker High School where I teach courses in Welding, Engineering, Design, Power and Energy and Robotics. I am also the co-coach of the FIRST Robotics Team C.I.S. 4607...
My family resides in Montrose, MN and includes my lovely wife of 9 years, Jill, and our 3 little ones: Landon, Thatcher, and Avery. We are currently getting our house ready for market and hope to be Becker residents within the year.
My Coaching Style: Everyone brings something to the table. Everyone has gifts and talents that will improve our team. I truly believe that every moment is one that can offer insight. Every game, every practice, every drill is one of importance. If adjustments need to be made, they will be made. I strive to bring coaches on board that have skills and experiences that exceed mine - in this way the program will continue to grow and the students will be most prepared.
Success is always the goal, but we must keep note that failure is always an option - it is not how we celebrate success, but how we learn from our failures that makes us better. Sir Charles Barkley puts this mantra a little more succinct: "If you are afraid of failure, you do not deserve to be successful".

Assistant Coach Brad Novak
Coach Novak stepped into the Assistant role in 2010 in order to help Coach Jurek build a new Soccer program at Becker. With his extensive background in coaching and building programs he has proven to be a valuable asset to the program. In 2012 he stepped in to help build the fledgling Junior High team and this new venture has proven very successful.

Assistant Coach Paul DeVall
Coach DeVall joined the program in 2012 as he assisted Coach Novak at the Junior High Level. His knowledge of the game and his skill development program helped to build a strong JH team last season and this year began with the Varsity Squads. With his tutelage, the boys honed deft ball handling skills and a commitment to drilling.
About Me: I love coaching soccer and other sports, I enjoy interacting with kids. I love teaching skills. I expect that players and parents will be respectful: Respect the game, respect yourself, respect other athletes, respect authority (on and off the field.)
I was a goal keeper and 4 year varsity letter winner in High school soccer. Played 2 years of college soccer for a small Bible College in Wisconsin, injury and illness kept me from continuing my college soccer.
Personal info:
Faith and family are first for me. I am a pastor and love it. I have a wonderful wife who supports me and couldn't do what I do without her. We have 4 boys. Our oldest son graduated from Becker in 2010 where he played soccer and Baseball. Some of the other boys are now coming up through the soccer program. I look forward to continuing to see the Becker Soccer program grow.
